Everything is on hold ... and by everything I mean everything except farming and the new job that starts Friday. I'm so sorry to have missed so much in the past 16 days. I'm not sure if I'll ever catch up. There is defienetly a T in the road, and I'm not sure which one we will be taking. New job = no internet. We either get a connection at home (mucho expensive-o in the boone docks) or I discontinue everything internet related (blog & email). I dont know ... I dont want to discontinue everything because I value you ladies soooo much, but I cant see us paying a monthly fee for what little I do use it (while trying not to become an addict and refuse to fix supper or do laundry because I'm "busy"). So I guess this is my rushed goodbye until I find time and maybe money to say hello again. I may resort to coming back to my parents to keep up, I dont know. It's all I dont know I guess. I'm sure I'll be back sometime ... Thanksgiving at least, we're having dinner here. ;)
Until next time know that you continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. You have all been a blessing to me. I miss you already.
Have a lovely day!

Yet Another Decorating Kick
I dont think my decorating/redecorating kick ever ended completely, I just put a muzzle on it for a while ... a few days ... kept it to myself for the most part. Now I'm back at it again, I'm getting itchy. The clothes shopping has ended, back to the house decorating shopping! My favorite wall art found on art dot com is really nagging at me. Buy me! Buy me! Look at me! Look more! Find more! Obsess more! So here I am ... obsessing. If you check out the link you'll notice a theme of sorts: mountains, specifically the Tetons in Wyoming. I know KMT has visited there also. This is my absolute favorite spot in the US, and why not bring it home to Indiana? The two odd balls in the group, named apple cider and pear something are my thoughts for the kitchen. The aspen trees would go in the "wolf room." I dont know though, I'm all thoughts and questions and no decisions. Do I even want to use photography prints on the wall? Or would it look better if it were paintings and the like? (My Grandpa W always said "and the like") Is photography too harsh?
I'm no decorator, I wish I could hire someone! That'd be so neat! Ok ... so if you're bored, or curious, or would like to offer your opinion go see those pictures and let me know what you think. I'll guarentee I'm the only one you know of that wants to put bison and old barns all over her house. ;)
I must get back to work.
Have a lovely afternoon!

Happy Birthday to my Hunny!
Today is Brad's birthday! Not that's it's a national holiday, but it should be. ;) He was never really fussed over as a child and missed out on all that fun birthday stuff.
I've got a bit of a dilemma though. My mom is giving Brad a couple flannel shirts for his birthday (that he specifically wanted) . Yesterday on a quick trip to town I found dress shirts on sale ... and short sleeve shirts on sale. He could get a total of 6 shirts today! I didnt buy the shirts initially for his birthday, but it'd be something he could open. I havent gotten the recliner yet, and wont until Friday/Saturday. Hopefully it'll be a secret until then. I'll tell him I ordered something and it hasnt come in yet (the truth), but is wrapping up 4 additional shirts better than nothing ... or worse than nothing? Brad's family has a reputation for buying him shirts and socks for his birthday AND Christmas, rather boring gifts every year. And even though he requested these shirts, it's still boring. I dont know what I should do. The sky is falling! haha No big deal, I'll figure it out.
I remember the first time I said happy birthday to Brad. It was rather unexpected and took him by complete surprise. I dont remember the exact year, either one or two years before we started dating. I was home from college for the weekend and dropped in where he works full time and I worked over the summers to catch up with "everyone" (I really just wanted to see him, even though I knew I couldnt really talk to him). I was talking to the supervisor in the shop when Brad walked through and as he headed out the door I half-yelled after him "happy birthday a few days early!" He stopped dead in his tracks half way through the door, turned around gave me a funny surprised look and said thanks, then continued on his way. The supervisor also had a funny expression, kind of a suspicious look. I keep my crushes very secretive until I know if the feeling is mutual. I've always been that way unless whomever I'm talking to doesnt have a clue and will never meet the guy unless I introduce them. But I guess that day I let the cat out of the bag a little bit, but Brad needed a little hint anyway. ;)
Big birthday wishes to my hunny!
It's my dad's birthday too ... weird huh.
Have a lovely day!

I Think I'm in Love
I am still shopping for work clothes ... slowly but surely. I havent gone on a huge shopping spree, though it would be nice. I have found 4 new pieces at JCPenney's, but with my current wardrobe it'll take a lot more than that. I found this adorabley cute Eddie Bauer sweater that I am just in love with ... the only problem is I found it in a magazine. I just checked online and it's out of stock in ALL colors in my size (S)! Come on people!
So this is where you come in (remember you're my personal shoppers and I'm sure you all get out on the town more than I do ... or even know where to look online). I "need" to find a sweater very smiliar to this one. Where do I look? ... I feel like I'm writing a lost and found poster ... or maybe a wanted/reward poster haha. I dont even know where to begin ... I'm that far out of the loop.
Have a lovely day!

Weekend in Review w/ Pictures!
Starting my last week of unofficial vacation I realized that I can keep busy and be productive without even taking much time to really think about what to do. The laundry keeps needing done, thanks to my very dirty and hard working husband. The dishes are always there because we never seem to stop eating. The dogs constantly want to go outside, then want to go inside, then want to go outside. More bills come in the mail every day. And my stack of books I thought I'd read through in a week still sit there mostly untouched. I have kept a cleaner house, which has been nice for a change. The book I'm reading (Wife After God's Own Heart) addresses that in that chapter I just read this morning and it really convicted me, even though it's cleaner than usual. As soon as I layed the book down and zoomed around the house straightening up, putting clothes away that were flopped on the side (a really bad habit of mine), and hanging up Brad's shirts that usually hang on the living room doorway until he wears them. I even organized his closet!

Phone call: Mom and Dad are coming home! Noooo!!! Sure, I'm tired of taking care of Dixie and being up here twice a day for hours, but still. They're already in Nebraska! I admit I dont know my state locations very well, but last time I knew they were on the western state line of Idaho. They expect to be home tomorrow night or sometime Wednesday. I guess I should enjoy my last 2 days! And I instantly think "what can I make? pie? cookies? another cheesecake?" I suppose I should mow their yard again, ugh, it takes 3 hours.
Moving on....
I bought Brad a recliner for his birthday! I've been thinking about it and yesterday I called and ordered it. On Saturday the 13th when we go to the big city for his birthday steak dinner I plan on surprising him with a little detour to the furniture store. It should be ready to pick up, hopefully anyway. I hope he's not mad at me for spending that much money.

Yesterday while Brad was mowing the yard he saw the GoodYear blimp floating our way. He yelled at me to get the camera. It was kind of a funny site out in the boonedocks. I dont know where it was heading, but it'll take a week alone to get to the next football game!
And then we washed and detailed our vehicles and mine just looked so cute and the light was just right on the trees I had to take more pictures.
I love my car ... a bit too much. I've never been attached to my trucks, but this car is so dern cute!
And then my MIL wants pictures on cd for her birthday in November so I'm starting the collection now. Here's my hubby and Luke going for a joy ride in the JD gator. Luke's loves to here "ride" and "go see grandma" (Brad's grandma).
And Miss Dixie posing nicely by the pretty pink flowers, waiting for the treat that floats above the camera. ;)
I couldnt get her ears up, she wanted that treat!
And that's all from here for now! Hope you all are having a good Monday!

Motherhood
Where to start on this monsterous topic.
This morning on the half-news-half-yap show there was an interview with a family of 19, of which 17 are kids all living in the home. To me this is just flabbergasting. How does the mother do it? I dont mean how does she have birth so many times, which is amazing in itself. What I mean is how does she parent all of these kids at one time?
To be completely honest being a mom scares me out of my wits. I never really knew it was fear until this past year, before that I just didnt want kids, didnt know why. I dont think I have the nurturing spirit of a good mother. That may sound lame, you say "all" women have this nurturing spirit, but I beg to differ. I have no desire to have kids. In my small group there are two couples with infants. Seeing these infants dont spark any kind of wanting in me. I dont even want to hold the critters! I think I'm set up more like a man internally, except for the sex drive, haha! I'm a no nonsense kind of girl that thrives on logic and reason. I operate from my heart sometimes too, but kids just dont tug at my heart. Why am I rambling this? I guess I'm confused. I want a definition of nuturing. What does it feel like? What does it mean exactly? Not a dictionary definition, a real life definition. Is it the same kind of feeling that I have for my dogs? I'm serious, no laughing. ;) I show Jasmine love, and maybe nurture her. I give her lots of scrubbies! But I dont do that to the other dog, Luke. We dont have that "bond." Mostly he's just in my way and I'd be fine without him (so sorry Brad!). See, kids would be in my way, and I'd end up playing favorites like I do with the dogs, and I can throw the dogs out when they annoy me, swat their butts when they do wrong, and feed them dog food every day and they dont complain. I dont have the patience for kids, that's my #2 main reason. I'm afraid I'd be a bad mother, and just because I'm afraid of that doesnt mean I'll be a good one either.
My philosophy/theory/whatever big word works here on kids has always been to adopt/foster the children already in this world, not bring more into it. I would also want to homeschool or at least send them to a private Christian school ... even those have bad reputations when it comes to the kids. There are so many things I went through as a child that I dont even want a child to experience. My experiences were nothing really bad either, just an imperfect life.
My real reasons are all about me though: I dont have the patiences, I am not nurturing, I am scared. Do you think God makes women like that? To not have kids? Granted I have the reproductive system for it, but still. Are we still commanded to populate the earth? Isnt it already populated? (a question brought up in Sunday school that was never answer, I want to know!)
Sure maybe in 5 years I'll want a child, but it'll definetely be a drastic change from what I've thought for the past 15 years.
Just to clarify in case you're wondering "why this, why now?" I am NOT pregnant. This was just on my mind today because of the interview and Alicia mentioned wanting to have a baby in her post.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I'm off to love on my dog. =)
